Although only required to coordinate building services, this tight programmed project and extremely high quality was delivered within eleven months from inception to commissioning.
The existing, BIM models for services such as HVAC, Power, Lighting, Lightning, Cable trays, Plumbing, Sanitary, and GAS were to be reused.
Re-routing was to be performed as per live service design changes for on-site subcontractors to finish installation and commissioning.
The main challenge was the inter-coordination of different building services with the 05 design team(s) being abroad.
MEP Department at WDI handled the re-modelling/re-routing of live design changes to bring the building services up to the project’s gruelling requirements.
Prior to start coordination, we were sure that simultaneously handling the amount of live design inputs from over 5 different teams abroad was itself a challenging task as it requires the coordinator to excel at his skills. Any amount of mistake was going to affect the timeline on a large scale, so we integrated the optimized process of flow of information with strict quality assurance.
The modelling team itself excelled at working efficiently and in coordination for meeting extremely tight deadlines.
A fully co-ordinated, as-built BIM (Building Information Model) model for 8 individual building services and an extremely short project timeframe of several months made delivering on this fast-track project challenging.
