We were approached to create coordinated BIM MEP services models from scratch for a commercial high rise complex with inputs from MEP design consultants.

Overview

Existing IFC and RVT models for Architecture and Structure, respectively were to be used for coordination purpose within 02 months for submission.

The Challenge

The main challenge was to implement the interoperability workflow between different BIM packages to produce a fully coordinated MEP services models including car park in basement.

Our approach/services

Different approaches were taken to address the need of IFC architecture file as we were having only IFC file from architects. The low version of software required by client was incompatible with the IFC file that we received so we had to convert the file in compatible format to begin the use.

Fortunately, we pulled the job within the stipulated timeframe.

Outcome

A fully coordinated MEP BIM model for submission was ready within the tight deadline using our technical know-how about the tools being used.

Completion date: March 2017
